The Department's vision is to establish a leading educational center of learning for Electronics & Communication Engineering and build a world class center of learning.
The Department has been striving to mould students into professional and competent engineers to face the challenges of the ever changing scenario and succeed in personal and professional fields. It is the continuous endeavor to produce highly skilled engineers by providing high class conveniences in the form of motivated faculty and state of the art infrastructure and equipment both in the class rooms as well as the laboratories.
Course Objectives
Highly accomplished E&C Department emphasizes on the design, analysis, and application of electronics and communication structures. Laboratories are continuously updated with the latest equipments in the field. The department has the following labs housed in separate, spacious and well designed blocks: Microprocessors & Computers lab, Basic Electronics Lab, Digital Electronics Lab, Power Electronics lab, Digital Electronics Lab, Power Electronics lab, Microwave Electronics lab and the Advanced Communication lab. The course upholds the objectives as below.

- To facilitate students towards taking up live projects in latest technologies
- To prepare students to be competent enough to meet the expectations of the industry
- To instill the spirit of research among students in the concerned area

Eligibility For Admission
- A good pass in the pre-university or XII standard or equivalent examination recognized by the university. However the candidate shall have secured 45% marks in the aggregate with Physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects, namely, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Computer Science, Biology and Electronics.
- For SC/ST and OBC candidates : Minimum marks for the SC/ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka in optional subjects is 40% provided that the candidate shall have studied and passed English as one of the subjects.
Duration and Mode of Study
The degree course abbreviated as B.E. is of four year full-time course comprising of eight Semesters of sixteen weeks each.

Teaching and Assessment Methods
A mixture of teaching methods is used, including lectures, group work, and guided reading. Student performance is assessed through both Internal assessment and Semester end examinations as per the norms of the Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka.
