Electrical engineering is a core branch of engineering and dates back to the late nineteenth century. It deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. It covers a range of applications including power, energy, control systems, industrial equipments and electronic products.
Course Objectives
Bachelor's degree programme in Electrical and Electronics Engineering under VTU is designed to equip students with adequate fundamental knowledge in the core subjects. Electromagnetism, Electrical and Electronic circuits, Control Engineering, Power Engineering, Signal Processing, Instrumentation and other allied subjects Contents. Laboratory courses provide the students with adequate opportunity to understand, design and evaluate performance characteristics of various electrical machines and equipments like electric motors, transformers, generators etc. Knowledge of electronics along with electrical engineering will help the students gain valuable insights into interdisciplinary areas like microcontrollers, MEMS and other applications.
Specific Objectives:
- To impart adequate knowledge in Physical Science including Mathematics
- To impart knowledge of core and applied subjects in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- To develop practical and computation skills required for analysis, design and testing
- To train the students to work in a group for carrying out project
